Reg Gupton offers a book review of The Millionaire Real Estate Agent by Gary Keller

Order your personal paperback here. Or you can get your own CD version here.

Gary Keller (of Keller Williams) wrote this book to get real estate agents to start "thinking big" and "living large." Don't worry, his company name isn't mentioned in the book except in the biography, so the book isn't a sales pitch.

I have taught most of the courses that are attached to The Millionaire Real Estate Agent. It is safe to say this book is the best resource available to real estate agents everywhere. This statement applies to any market, experience level, or education level.

The Millionaire Real Estate Agent turns success in real estate into a choice--you can either choose to do the things that will make you successful or you can choose to ignore them. What better way to succeed than to copy those who have already succeeded?! There's no need to reinvent the wheel.

This book has improved countless lives in the real estate business. It's a playbook on how to make a million dollars a year in real estate sales. The best part is that if you don't want to build a massive sales organization, you can step out of the way before you reach the million-dollar level. Maybe half a million dollars a year in passive income is enough for you. Maybe fifty-thousand dollars a year in passive income is enough for you. The point is that if you follow the systems and models in the book, you now have a choice instead of a job.

Let's face it--most real estate agents have a sales job and they happen to be self-employed at that sales job, so they call it a "business." If they stopped going to work tomorrow, that "business" would stop producing income. The Millionaire Real Estate Agent gives step-by-step instruction on how to change that scenario and turn a real estate sales practice into a real business.

On the back cover of the book, Robert Kiyosaki says, "This book presents a new paradigm for real estate and should be required reading for real estate professionals everywhere."

I agree.

Reg Gupton offers the truth about direct mail in real estate

If you think direct mail does not work in your real estate business, you must listen here.

The results will astound you. I promise.

Reg Gupton asks: When did you last look at...

This week a new client mentioned that he was considering a new marketing idea that he had just learned about. He wanted to know if he should embark on it.

I asked if he had checked his Source of Business stats recently. No, was his answer.

Most Realtors have no idea where their business comes from. They remember the last deal, the smallest, the biggest and maybe the hardest. But never the easiest and certainly never the most fun.

In order to run your business you must understand where your business comes from really. If your business is like the data from NAR over 70% comes from repeat/referral. And most agents spend most of their time working cold leads rather than your warm business.

Send a request to gupton@growthseminars.com or comment here. I will be happy to share my Source of Business Transaction log. You will then understand what you are doing that really works in your real estate business. And where you should focus your energy, time and money.

To your continued success,

Reg Gupton asks: how do you stay focused and move from one task to another

The other day, I was talking to a client about focus. Here is a story from the marketing genius Dan Kennedy that might help.

He reports that early in his speaking career, he was due to go on stage to talk to an audience and sell from the podium. Just before going on stage, he learned that his car had been repossessed.

Not exactly his more inspiring moment. He needed to sell and sell well.

He did just that. I heard him say that he "cleared his calculator" before going on stage.

You can do the same. Be present wherever you are. Don't carry old emotions with you. They don't help. Focus on your current situation, not your past. You can not change your past not matter what you do.

We decide how we will feel about each event as it transpires for us. No one can make you feel anything. Really.

It does take some repetition and practice. Remember, practice makes permanent not perfect.

Decide to clear your calculator as your day progresses.

To your continued success,

Reg Gupton
