Reg Gupton asks: how do you stay focused and move from one task to another

The other day, I was talking to a client about focus. Here is a story from the marketing genius Dan Kennedy that might help.

He reports that early in his speaking career, he was due to go on stage to talk to an audience and sell from the podium. Just before going on stage, he learned that his car had been repossessed.

Not exactly his more inspiring moment. He needed to sell and sell well.

He did just that. I heard him say that he "cleared his calculator" before going on stage.

You can do the same. Be present wherever you are. Don't carry old emotions with you. They don't help. Focus on your current situation, not your past. You can not change your past not matter what you do.

We decide how we will feel about each event as it transpires for us. No one can make you feel anything. Really.

It does take some repetition and practice. Remember, practice makes permanent not perfect.

Decide to clear your calculator as your day progresses.

To your continued success,

Reg Gupton
